Tell Your Story

Testimony Power

As disciples of Christ, testimonies of salvation and freedom not only carry the ability to inspire hope but they also plant "seeds" of God's love by displaying His goodness and grace. Some testimonies are easier than others to reveal and, depending on the environment, may only be appropriate for specific audiences. Nevertheless, stories about deliverance display the very DNA of love that God has for us. For that reason, it is important to listen for opportunities to share the vital message: "If He did it for me, He can you it for you."

How To Tell Your Story

Every interaction is different. One case may allow for an hour long conversation, while another may be limited to 10 minutes in an Uber. Although the Holy Spirit is our Guide, it is still advantageous to be prepared with "highlights" of God's impact in your life that can be expanded upon as needed.

Testimonies generally consist of three parts:

1. Situation/ life before Christ

2. Situation/ life after Christ

3. The result of His intervention

“In that day you will say:

‘Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name;

make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted”

(Isaiah 12:4, NIV)

“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord.

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason

for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect”

(1 Peter 3:15, NIV).
